Zero-To-Published Program:

VIP Mentorship for Your Trainee

A 1:1, faculty-funded program to help your trainee move a manuscript efficiently from data to submission—while they learn a repeatable, independent writing process.

You nominate a student or postdoc with real data and an active writing project. I work with them directly to guide that project to a completed, submission-ready manuscript. Along the way, they develop a sustainable writing routine, clear decision-making tools, and skills they can reuse for future papers and the rest of their career.

You already know which student or postdoc would benefit most from focused mentorship. This is for them.

What VIP Lab Support Is

This is the highest-touch version of the Zero-To-Published program.

You sponsor one trainee. They get full access to the program plus intensive 1:1 support until their manuscript moves from “non-existent” to “submitted” and they leave with a repeatable way of working.

You stay looped in on the important pieces. They do the work. I guide the process.

No extra supervision time for you. No ghostwriting. Just focused, structured progress.

Who this is (and isn't) for

VIP is a good fit if:

  • You are a PI / faculty member supervising the trainee.

  • There is a specific manuscript with data ready that either needs to get submitted soon or keeps getting stuck.

  • The trainee is prepared to commit around 10 hours per week to writing, revising, and implementing feedback.

  • You’re willing to let someone else provide the writing structure and deadlines, so you can focus on the science and big-picture feedback.

  • You can use grant or institutional funds (or equivalent) to support their professional development.

VIP is NOT a fit if:

  • You want someone to “just write the paper” for your trainee.

  • The project is still at the idea or data collection stage.

  • Your trainee cannot reliably commit to ~10 hours per week for focused work.

  • You’re mostly “curious” and not ready to support them with funding their professional development in that area.

  • You’re looking for a generic workshop for the whole lab rather than targeted help for one person.

If that’s the case, the core program or sprint will be a better option.

Everything your trainee gets

Zero-To-Published Program (Core)

Your trainee gets lifetime access to the full program:

  • 6 in-depth modules with almost 10 hours of video content

  • A 79-page workbook that walks them step-by-step through planning and writing

  • Examples from 17 real manuscripts (research, reviews, methods, and more)

  • A set of templates, checklists, and frameworks to support scientific publishing

  • Templates for cover letters and resubmission letters

  • Exclusive bonuses on how to approach research so it’s easier to publish more

  • 30-day money-back guarantee so you can evaluate the fit with low risk

Early Member VIP Experience (High Touch)

On top of the core program, your trainee gets:

  • 1:1 coaching (6 Zoom calls)
Regular calls (recommended biweekly, to be used within 6 months) focused entirely on their manuscript progress and writing decisions.

  • Manuscript feedback on up to 6 drafts
Detailed comments on structure, clarity, and argument so they know exactly what to fix next.

  • Priority support between calls
Direct access to me for questions and guidance within agreed boundaries, so they never stay stuck for long.

Investment

Early Member VIP Tuition for one trainee: $997

Your investment includes:

  • Lifetime access to all Zero-To-Published program materials

  • 6 VIP 1:1 coaching calls to be used within 6 months

  • Feedback on up to 6 manuscript drafts

  • Priority support for your trainee during the VIP period

You can typically classify this as professional development / training for the trainee. I'm happy to provide a formal invoice or documentation for grant or departmental purposes, if needed.

How it works

  • Nominate your trainee
Click “Apply for VIP Mentorship for My Trainee” and complete a short form with your details and your trainee’s details.

  • Your trainee completes a brief questionnaire
I’ll email your trainee (and CC you) a short questionnaire to share more about the project, timing, and their weekly availability.

  • Short call with you (the PI)
Once I’ve reviewed their questionnaire, we’ll have a brief call to confirm goals, expectations, and funding. If it’s a fit, I’ll send you a private payment link. The university purchasing system option is available as well.

  • Enroll & start
After enrollment, your trainee is onboarded, we schedule their first session, and you’ll receive brief progress updates at key milestones.

Here's what students and faculty say about the experience...

If this sounds like what your trainee needs

If you’re already picturing the exact person and paper this would help, that’s usually the right signal.
